Gingerbread Spice Steamer/Frothed Milk or Latte
The syrup for this tastes just like gingerbread and can make for a delicious and fun holiday twist on a steamed/frothed milk or latte. The spice syrup makes enough for 8 drinks and can be kept for several weeks refrigerated, or even months frozen. Just warm it back up before using. These fancy steamed milk drinks are easily achievable at home. If you make them often, consider a milk heater/frother such as the one here. Of course, they can be made without it as well, see notes.

Ingredients
Gingerbread Spice Syrup
Frothed/Steamed Milk
- 8 ounces cashew milk or Califia almond milk
- pinch of salt
- 1/4-1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1/8 teaspoon stevia glycerite 2 dashes, or to taste
- 2 tablespoons Gingerbread Spice Syrup
- 1 shot of espresso or 1/4 cup strongly brewed coffee optional, if making a latte
Instructions
- Combine all the spice syrup ingredients in a small pot and bring to a boil. Simmer for 5 minutes then let cool completely. You can strain this through a coffee filter if you want to ensure a smooth texture in your finished drink. This can be kept refrigerated for up to 2 weeks or frozen for up to 3 months. I like to freeze the syrup in ice cube molds (2 tablespoons per well), then pop those out and freeze in a freezer safe container. Then just reheat as needed!
- Combine the cashew milk, salt, vanilla, and stevia in a Capresso Milk Frother. Press the hot button and wait for the machine to turn off.
- While the milk is frothing, prepare coffee, if using and rewarm the spice syrup. Pour both into a serving cup. Pour the hot frothed milk over top and enjoy.
Notes
You can also make this with a handheld milk frother. Simply warm the almond milk in the microwave or on the stovetop until steaming. Then insert the frother and blend until frothed to the desired amount.
