Hot Apple Cider
This drink is warm and spicy and perfect for the holidays. You can make a large batch and reheat as desired.

Ingredients
- 4 cups water
- 4 packets mulling spices such as Martinelli’s (cinnamon, orange peel, cloves, allspice)
- 4 bags of apple tea such as Tazo, optional, enhances apple flavor
- 2 tablespoons apple cider vinegar
- stevia glycerite or other sweetener, to taste
- pinch of salt
- 1 star anise
- 1 teaspoon apple extract enhances apple flavor
Instructions
- Combine all ingredients except apple extract and bring to a boil. Reduce to a low simmer and cook for 10 minutes. Strain liquid and stir in apple extract, if using. Adjust sweetness to taste and serve with a cinnamon stick for garnish, if desired.
