Classic Poke

Tender tuna pieces in a sweet, savory, and salty dressing get some crunch from macadamia nuts and sweet onion. Red seaweed adds a bit of chew and ocean flavor for this no-cook dish.

Ingredients

  • 1/4 cup coconut aminos
  • 1/16 teaspoon hondashi optional
  • 1 teaspoon toasted sesame oil
  • 1 teaspoon chili garlic sauce or sriracha omit if nightshade-free
  • 1 pound sashimi grade tuna or salmon
  • 1/4 sweet onion finely diced
  • 3 tablespoons macadamia nuts or ‘Inamona, also known as roasted kukui (candlenut), chopped
  • 2 green onions thinly sliced
  • 1 tablespoon ogo red seaweed

Instructions

  • Whisk together the coconut aminos, hondashi, sesame oil, and sriracha. Add the fish, onion, nuts, green onion, and seaweed and toss to combine.
