Chocolate Egg Creams

Despite the name, this drink does not have any egg in it. A rich chocolate syrup is stirred into cream and your nut milk of choice and then topped with seltzer water for a lightly carbonated creamy chocolate soda.

Ingredients

  • 1/4 cup heavy cream or coconut cream if dairy-free
  • 3/4 cup coconut or nut milk beverage
  • 6 tablespoons chocolate sauce
  • 1 1/2 cup seltzer water

Instructions

  • Stir together the chocolate syrup, cream, and nut milk beverage. Divide between two glasses then slowly pour 3/4 cup seltzer water into each glass. There should be foam on top. Stir gently with a long spoon being careful not to disrupt the foam to mix the seltzer and chocolate milk.

Chocolate Sauce

This chocolate sauce is low fat and contains no sugar, dairy, or nuts. Stir into nut milk to make a keto-friendly chocolate milk or drizzle on desserts.

Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1/8 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup water
  • 1/3 cup allulose or liquid sweetener to taste
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract

Instructions

  • Combine all ingredients except the vanilla in a small pot. Bring to a simmer, stirring frequently to ensure the mixture is smooth then remove from heat. Stir in vanilla and let cool. Store refrigerated for up to one month.
