Tahini and Lemon Sauce

This makes a good salad dressing or all purpose sauce for any meat or fish. Feel free to add fresh herbs or spices to play with the flavor profile.

Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup tahini paste
  • 1/4 cup water warm
  • 1 tablespoon coconut aminos or gluten-free soy sauce
  • 2-4 tablespoons lemon juice start with 2 and add more if desired
  • zest of 1 lemon optional
  • 1 garlic clove minced
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/8 teaspoon pepper

Instructions

  • Whisk the tahini to loosen then add the water, a bit at a time, whisking until smooth. You can vary the amount of water to vary the consistency - add more to thin the sauce. Whisk in remaining ingredients. Alternatively, combine everything in a blender and blend until smooth. Taste and adjust seasoning as desired. The sauce will keep for one week in the refrigerator.
